SON2112 - Abdominal Sonography II Credits: 2 Prerequisites: SON 1111 and SON 1111L Corequisites: SON 2112L This course presents a comprehensive study of pathology, pathophysiology, disease states and sonographic appearances of abdominal structures and small parts. It is designed to correlate the sonographic anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the following organs/systems: abdomen, abdominal vascular system, biliary system, urinary system, adrenal glands, spleen, lymph nodes, retroperitoneum, peritoneal cavity, GI system, abdominal wall, male pelvis, scrotum, neck, thyroid, and superficial structures. Clinical symptoms and data, relevant laboratory tests and the pathophysiology of pertinent diseases are covered in this course. Sonographic images of pathological states as well as correlation with patient medical history and the findings of other imaging modalities are also presented.
