Group Insurance Benefits

Health Insurance Plans

CF’s health insurance plan provides regular full-time employees and their dependents access to medical insurance benefits. Eligible employees may participate in the health insurance plan subject to all terms and conditions of the agreement between CF and the insurance carrier. Employees may choose from several different options based on their individual needs.

A change in employment classification that would result in loss of eligibility to participate in the health insurance plan may qualify an employee for benefits continuation under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, COBRA.

Details of the health insurance plan and information on cost of coverage will be provided in advance of enrollment to eligible employees. Comprehensive information in regard to the health insurance may be found on the Employee Benefits website at https://benefits.cf.edu/. You may also contact the coordinator of benefits and special projects at 352-854-2322, ext. 1290, for more information about health insurance benefits.

Annual benefits open enrollment takes place every Fall. During this time period, employees may elect to make changes to their benefits.

Savings and Spending Accounts
Employees who are eligible for health insurance can also enroll in:

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Healthcare FSA and Dependent Care FSA
  • Health Savings Account

Life Insurance Plans

CF offers group term life insurance to eligible employees. A free, basic group term life insurance benefit is available to all full-time employees. Full-time employees enrolled in basic life insurance coverage can also elect additional term life insurance. Medical underwriting may be required. Additional coverage options are available for spouse/dependents.

Information about life insurance plans can be found at https://benefits.cf.edu/, Life Insurance.

Other Supplemental Plans

CF offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in optional supplemental insurance plans. Employees pay the entire premium for optional plans; the College does not contribute. Premiums for these plans are deducted from your paycheck on a semi-monthly basis. Supplemental plan option include: Dental, Vision, Cancer, Disability, and Medical Gap/Hospitalization.
