GRA2206 - Principles of Typography Credits: 3 Corequisites: GRA 2100 The fundamentals and principles of typography are studied, including printers’ measurements, copy fitting, selection and impact of different typefaces, and proofreading. Students will explore typefaces by category, weight, family, point size and purpose. Similarities and contrasts between typefaces will be explored. Experimental projects will explore the “edge of readability” and its impact upon communication. Type-only layouts and projects will be explored. Terms offered: F, W, S Classification: Parallel
