Simple Syllabus is a centralized, template based software platform that faculty at CF use to personalize and publish their course syllabi each term within Canvas. All course syllabi must be published within Simple Syllabus. Course syllabi are required to be available in a public, searchable format on the college’s web site a minimum of 45 days prior to the start of a given term, in order for the college to remain in compliance with requirements set forth in Florida Statute 1004.085 and Rule 6A-14.092 Textbook and Course Material Affordability and Transparency. Therefore, the CF deadline is 60 days prior to the start of the term. The submission deadline for each term is published in the Academic Calendar, and coincides with the deadline for textbook adoptions.
The CF Syllabus Library is a public-facing repository of all course syllabi. It is organized by term and parent organization. Parent organizations in Simple Syllabus equate to CF’s departments, programs and divisions. Together, these form the hierarchy that serves as the foundation for Simple Syllabus.
The CF Syllabus Library is located at https://cf.simplesyllabus.com/en-US/syllabus-library. It can also be reached from the college web site by selecting Course Syllabi under the Academics tab, as well as from MyCF. A login is not necessary to view or download course syllabi.
Adjunct faculty should submit their own syllabi. Department Chairs and Program managers are responsible for approving all syllabi for their areas within Simple Syllabus. However, they should not create syllabi on behalf of their adjuncts.
For support using Simple Syllabus, faculty and staff should email syllabus@cf.edu.
There are instructional videos and information available to faculty in the GoCF module in Canvas. Faculty should contact E-Learning at DLHelp@cf.edu in they need access to this module.
