RET1291 - Clinical Respiratory Care I Credits: 4 Corequisites: RET 1484 This course is a clinical practicum designed to introduce students to the healthcare environment, emphasizing hospital operations, safety and security, infection control, and legal/ethical consideration in the delivery of health care. The course will also introduce the students to basic cardiopulmonary assessment using chart review, patient interview, physical assessment and vital signs, laboratory and imaging studies, non-invasive monitoring, electrocardiographic evaluation, and pulmonary function testing. The students will also learn to navigate through and document in the Electronic Medical Record and communicate with the health care team in a respectful and collaborative manner.
