SON1000L - Introduction to Sonography Lab Credits: 1 Corequisites: SON 1000 This course provides a laboratory environment for the student to work with ultrasound equipment to develop the skills necessary to perform sonographic examinations. Students will identify lesions of various echogenicity, learn sonographic directional terms, knobology, image orientation, transducer care, scanning and patient breathing techniques, demonstrate ergonomic scanning and communication skills, practice patient transfer protocols and body mechanics, image optimization as well as patient positioning, write technical impression worksheets and utilize sonographic terminology.
