DEH1000 - Introduction to Dental Hygiene

Corequisites: DEH 1000L
Course topics include the dental hygiene profession, infection control procedures to prevent disease transmission, OSHA and CDC compliance, patient assessment skills, dental operatory equipment operation and maintenance, data collection, moisture control and instrument Identification and transfer. Emphasis will also be placed on oral health and disease, various dental deposits and the effects on oral health will be introduced for application in subsequent clinical courses.
