NUR4165 - Introduction to Research in Nursing Credits: 4 Corequisites: NUR 3825 The focus of this course is an introduction to research processes and methods utilized in developing scientific knowledge to support nursing practice. This knowledge is applied to the practice of nursing to promote, maintain, restore, and support health and improve quality of life. The steps in the research process are identified, discussed, and utilized to develop a limited research proposal. Emphasis is placed on the roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse as a producer and consumer of research. Students will apply critical thinking skills to the evaluation of published nursing research and recognition of ethical dilemmas in research studies.
