ANS2072C - Equine Manual Therapies

Prerequisites: ANS 1073C
This course allows students to practice the application of physical therapy for maintenance of athletic horses as well as rehabilitation of injured horses. A major focus of this course is a hands-on project based on evaluation, development and implementation of a treatment plan, documentation, and presentation of semester rehabilitation results. Theory and application of massage techniques, including stretching and myofascial release, along with other rehabilitation therapies are used in treatment of horses used in the project. Extensive animal work will enhance students’ comprehension and ability to apply manual therapies for horses.
