The CF Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a U.S. Department of Education, Office of Post-secondary Education funded educational outreach program that offers educational services to qualified adults who reside in Citrus, Levy, and Marion counties. The mission of the EOC is to provide educational information and assistance to qualified individuals who wish to pursue a postsecondary education program. The goal of the EOC program is to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in postsecondary education institutions (2-year community college, 4-year university, vocational, certificate, or professional programs.) EOC services are free and provided on a one-on-one basis or in workshop sessions.
EOC services include assistance with: locating/choosing a post-secondary program for a chosen career; the college, university, trade/vocational school admissions application process; the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other financial aid and scholarship applications; referrals to General Educational Development (GED) and other adult basic education classes; support funds for GED, PERT, and Wonderlic test fees; exploring career areas and interests that match your abilities; and financial literacy information designed to improve student financial & economic knowledge.
EOC participant eligibility criteria: 19 years of age or older; U.S. citizen or permanent resident status (documentation required); First-generation college student, meaning neither parent has a four-year college degree; low-income individual (based on federal guidelines); and a veteran of any age and their family members.
